Singapore's first centralised heritage conservation facility stores over 108,000 artefacts, and has conservation laboratories specially fitted for the treatment of artefacts like textiles, paper, paintings, and three-dimensional objects.

 

HCC plays a leading role in heritage preservation in Singapore. It sets and maintains high professional standards of heritage preservation, conducts guided tours, workshops and lectures to promote a greater awareness of heritage preservation.

A World War II gallery showcasing life in Syonan-to (Singapore) during the Japanese Occupation. Measuring 420 square metres, the exhibition gallery comprises the Surrender Room (where the historic surrender of the British army to the Japanese forces took place), 10 thematic sections and a 69-seat state-of-the-art audio-visual theatre.

Collects and manages the nation's public and private historical records, some of which date back to the 18th century. Within its wealth of documented heritage are records of key decisions, policies, legal obligations of Singapore's government, as well as the social experiences of our citizen. Its repositories have acquired more than 296,000 records.

World War II interpretative Centre housed in a restored colonial bungalow. Set in lush green surroundings amidst the picturesque Pasir Panjang area, it tells the tale of the Battle of Pasir Panjang on 14 February 1942 when 1,400 brave and valiant soldiers from the Malay Regiment chose to fight to their death against 13,000 Japanese soldiers.

Dedicated to 20th-century Singapore and Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art, Singapore Art Museum is one of the first art museums in Southeast Asia with international standard museum facilities and programmes. With more than 6,500 art works, it possesses the largest permanent collection of 20th century Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art worldwide.

A boutique museum devoted to philately. It promotes the appreciation of Singapore's heritage in philately or the study and collection of postage materials.

 

Other than its permanent exhibitions, the museum features thematic galleries that cover a wide-range of interesting current topics. These include displays from the private collections of renowned philatelists, travelling exhibitions from overseas and commemorative exhibitions for new stamp issues.
